In the last few years, the expansion of digital business is very rapid. Plenty companies, apps, games and digital service have been introduced. One by one is disappearing but a few succeed in getting investment up to trillion Rupiah. The ones who have made it in the industry are lesser than those who had to leave the market as the booming of digital business was not catered by change in bank fundamentals, causing this business to become a bubble that easily breaks. We will review this topic as our Main Report for ICT Magazine No. 56-2017.
Still related to digital business, one of the biggest telecommunication in Indonesia was hacked, apart from information security,
the culprit relayed about expensive internet rate in Indonesia, which you can read in our special report. It is impossible to aggressively talk about digital business when network infrastructure, particularly affordable tariff is still a hamper. We try to analyze data tariff issue from several points of view.
In this edition, we also present the latest review and information on Indonesian ICT. Indonesian Broadcasting Commission firmly bans television campaign outside schedule fixed by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU), information on 109 companies who did not pay Telecommunication Right Fee and received their first warnings. Also, information on interconnection tariff, that was failed to implement in 2016 and effort to target world market via online marketing, developed by Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry.
